Hotel Stays With Cats
Hotels are unfamiliar territory for cats. With some preparation, you can make the experience manageable.
Setting Up
- Keep your cat in the carrier while you inspect the room
- Check for hazards: open windows, gaps behind furniture, toxic items
- Set up a “base camp” in one area with litter, food, water, and blanket
- Spray pheromones on corners and bedding
During Your Stay
- Put up the “Do Not Disturb” sign (prevents accidental door openings)
- Keep windows and balcony doors locked
- Maintain feeding and play routines
- If leaving the room, secure your cat in the bathroom with essentials
