Hotel Stays With Cats

Hotels are unfamiliar territory for cats. With some preparation, you can make the experience manageable.

Setting Up

  • Keep your cat in the carrier while you inspect the room
  • Check for hazards: open windows, gaps behind furniture, toxic items
  • Set up a “base camp” in one area with litter, food, water, and blanket
  • Spray pheromones on corners and bedding

During Your Stay

  • Put up the “Do Not Disturb” sign (prevents accidental door openings)
  • Keep windows and balcony doors locked
  • Maintain feeding and play routines
  • If leaving the room, secure your cat in the bathroom with essentials
